Experience College before College
Dual Credit is a way for students to receive credit from two separate institutions within a single enrollment. For many high school students, this is a convenient and affordable way to earn college credit.
Dual Credit courses are taught by professors at Christian colleges and the college will provide the transcript documenting the student's academic record. Since successful completion of the course earns college credit, these courses are usually open to juniors and seniors looking for a challenge and an equally satisfying reward. The curriculum involves rigorous, college-level work. Potential students should expect to take full responsibility for their learning experience, from setting their own study schedules to turning in assignments in a timely manner without reminders.
How it Works for Partners
Partner schools sign up students using their Maestro login credentials. Simply register for the course in Maestro and then fill out an application with the student. Also, it is the partner school which decides the amount of high school credit to award the student on its own transcripts.
For help with registration changes, please contact Sevenstar Admissions.
How it Works for Students
Once enrolled, students will be working in the dual credit institution’s learning management system, as dual credit courses are not yet accessible in ANGEL. Upon successful completion of a course, the student will earn .5 credits with Sevenstar for a 3-4 credit college course.
Students should check with their prospective college's registrar offices about the rules for transferring credit BEFORE they take a Dual Credit class. In the past, Sevenstar students have had 100% success in transferring Dual Credit courses.
